Over 10,000 spectators, 142 musicians from 20 nationalities, world premieres, and an estimated economic impact of around 3 million euros confirm the success of the festival’s fifth edition, which celebrated cultural diversity as a universal value.
The Jordi Savall Festival 2025, closing its fifth edition, welcomed 10,162 spectators – 8,702 tickets sold and more than 1,400 participants in parallel activities –, which represents a historic record consolidating its position as one of the most remarkable music festivals in the country and in Europe.
For a week, the heritage venues of the Royal Monastery of Santes Creus, the Sanctuary of Serra de Montblanc, the Alcover Arts Convent, and the Church of Sant Francesc de Valls hosted concerts and activities, which transformed the region into an international meeting point for music, heritage, and dialogue between cultures.
Heritage, creation, and territory
The festival brought together 142 musicians from 20 nationalities, which strengthened the dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation. The program also included lectures, open rehearsals, commented auditions, guided tours, and the exhibition “El so i la tinta (Sound and Ink)” by Frederic Amat.
The estimated economic impact ranges between 2.5 and 3 million euros – 3.5 times the investment – and is firmly established locally thanks to collaboration with municipalities and local associations, the use of local products, and collective transport from several cities.
Director’s statement
According to Martí Sancliment, Festival Director:
- “The festival has established itself as one of Europe’s leading festivals dedicated to dialogue between cultures.”
- “In five years, we have managed to make Santes Creus and, by extension, the festival’s various stages, a place of pilgrimage and meeting for people from around the world, drawn by the desire to experience transcendent moments.”
- “The Jordi Savall Festival highlights the importance of creating spaces for cultural creation and meeting, particularly in rural areas and outside large cities.”
- “The festival’s success is explained not only by the quality of the programming and good organization, but also by the commitment and appreciation shown to us every year by the residents of Santes Creus. It is now very difficult to draw a line between the festival and Santes Creus; I believe everyone experiences it as something of their own, and that is the greatest gift of all.”
