From 13 to 15 February, the European project YOCPA 2.0 – Youth Orchestra & Choir Professional Academies is hosting a vocal academy for young singers based in Europe. The YOCPA project, conceived and directed by Jordi Savall, is managed by the Fundació Centre Internacional de Música Antiga and supported by the European Union. Its aim is to provide specialized training and professional development opportunities to musicians at the early stages of their careers.
This vocal academy will bring together eight singers from Catalonia and other European countries, who will participate in three intensive days of work led by Lluís Vilamajó, focusing on vocal and musical refinement. The participants will be accompanied by expert members of the Jove Capella Reial de Catalunya, in a format that combines artistic mentorship, choral work, and professional experience.
The Vall d’en Bas will host this educational activity. On Friday, rehearsals will take place at the Escola Municipal de Música de Olot, while on Saturday and Sunday they will be held at Can Trona – Centre de Cultura i Natura de la Vall d’en Bas.
The academy is open to the public: anyone interested can attend the rehearsals and observe the creative process up close. On Sunday at 12:00, an open rehearsal will be offered in the lobby of Can Trona.
