This year’s vocal auditions have come to a successful close with an excellent level of participation. A total of 168 applications were received, of which 78 were selected in the first round: 55 were invited to the live auditions in September, and 23 were placed on a reserve list. All 88 applicants not selected have already been informed of the results.
The live auditions took place during the first week of September at the ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya) and brought together 53 singers from 13 different countries, who demonstrated great artistic quality and a wide variety of voices and styles.
Following the auditions, the jury selected 21 singers to take part in future projects:
- 7 sopranos
- 8 mezzos/contraltos
- 2 tenors
- 4 bass-baritones
With this selection, the process concludes successfully, reaffirming the commitment to discovering and promoting new international vocal talents, within the framework of a new artistic stage and growth for the YOCPA 2.0 project.
