Jordi Savall presents AEVUM, a new streaming platform dedicated to classical music, jazz and traditional music

02/10/2026

Maestro Jordi Savall is one of the founders of AEVUM, a new international project that aims to transform the digital music listening experience and offer a fairer model for artists and producers. The platform is expected to launch between late 2027 and early 2028.

Jordi Savall has presented AEVUM, a new streaming platform specifically designed for classical music, jazz and traditional music, with the aim of offering a listening experience tailored to the particular characteristics of these repertoires while promoting a more favourable remuneration model for creators, producers and record labels.

The project was unveiled on 28 September at Station F in Paris by Jordi Savall and AEVUM’s founding team, which also includes philosopher Maria Bartels, music entrepreneur Yves Riesel —–founder of Qobuz in 2007 – and Éric Guillemaud.

A new way to listen to and value music

AEVUM was created to address some of the specific needs of musical repertoires that do not always fit the models used by major generalist streaming platforms. The project seeks to create an experience centred on listening quality, documentation, specialised metadata and search tools adapted to the complexity of classical music, jazz and musical traditions from around the world.

The platform plans to bring together a catalogue of more than 300,000 albums and nearly 4 million tracks, without requiring exclusivity from participating artists, producers or labels.

One of the project’s key elements will be its economic model. AEVUM proposes valuing streams according to actual listening time and creating a more direct link between each subscriber’s contribution and the producers of the music they listen to. The aim is to move towards a more transparent system and more meaningful remuneration throughout the music creation ecosystem.

Technology in the service of musical heritage

AEVUM is also developing its own database to provide more comprehensive information on works, composers, performers and recordings, alongside more precise search systems. Artificial intelligence will be used to enrich and organise this data and to develop new tools for users.

The project will also include 1877, a module designed to explore the history and documentation of recorded music beyond the catalogues currently available on digital platforms.

In parallel, AEVUM plans to incorporate blockchain technology to bring greater transparency and efficiency to rights information and payment processes for producers, labels and artists.

An initiative rooted in a history of artistic independence

Jordi Savall’s involvement in AEVUM continues a career marked by his commitment to musical heritage, artistic quality and recording independence. In 1998, he founded ALIA VOX, the label through which he has released a significant part of his recordings and carried out extensive work to recover and disseminate Europe’s and the Mediterranean’s musical heritage.

Over the coming months, the AEVUM team will begin an international consultation process with artists, producers and music industry professionals to continue developing the project. The platform’s public launch is planned for late 2027 to early 2028.
