We are pleased to announce that the Bruckner Society of America has selected the recent Alia Vox recording of Anton Bruckner’s Symphony in D minor “Die Nullte”, performed by Le Concert des Nations under the direction of Jordi Savall, as the best Bruckner recording of the past year.
The Board of Directors of the Society praised the orchestra’s outstanding performance, Maestro Savall’s inspiring interpretation, and the superb sound quality of the SACD. They also highlighted the importance of a pioneer in historically informed performance like Jordi Savall beginning his exploration of Bruckner with this early symphony, bringing a fresh light and sensitivity to the work.
Founded in 1931, the Bruckner Society of America aims to promote the understanding and appreciation of the life and music of Anton Bruckner, as well as to recognize outstanding interpretations that preserve his legacy through recordings.
This recognition gives new momentum to the Bruckner project of Jordi Savall and Le Concert des Nations, who continue to explore the Austrian composer’s symphonic legacy with historical criteria and period instruments, offering a renewed perspective on his monumental work.
