New season of “El so original”

Jordi Savall presents a new season of “El So Original” in three of his usual concert venues in Barcelona: L’Auditori, the Palau de la Música and the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar.

Seven concerts that will take us through seven centuries of music: from the Romanticism of Franz Schubert’s symphonies – with which he opens this new season on October 6th at L’Auditori – to the medieval melodies of the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat in the concert he will give at the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar.

This year, the thirteenth in the cycle “The So Original,” also includes the performance of two religious pieces by the French composer Marc-Antoine Charpentier; the orchestral “Elements and Furies” by Gluck and Handel; Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis and the “7 words of Christ at the Cross” set to music by Schutz and Haydn together with the text by the writer José Saramago on the centenary of his birth.
