Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: La clemenza di Tito
Composed in 1791, the final year of Mozart’s life, La clemenza di Tito is an opera seria that exalts magnanimity and nobility of spirit through the figure of the Roman emperor Titus. Its music, rich in dramatic contrasts and lyrical intensity, blends classical tradition with a deep expressiveness that foreshadows Romanticism.
Performed by Le Concert des Nations, the soloists, and the Philharmonia Chor Wien, under the direction of Jordi Savall. Concerts held on 25 and 28 January 2024 at the Salzburg Festival and on 2 February 2024 in Salzburg.
