Antonio Vivaldi: The Four Seasons

This academy is an initiative of the YOCPA project. Les Musiciennes du Concert des Nations is an orchestra of young musicians led by the virtuoso Tatar violinist Alfia Bakieva and conducted by Jordi Savall. This ensemble is inspired by the musical activities that took place at the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice during the Baroque era. Like the other three ospedali in the city, this Italian institution provided housing and education for young orphans.

The quality of musical training at this convent was so high that it later attracted girls from noble families and young music students from abroad. Thus, during the 17th and 18th centuries, the orchestra and choir of the Pietà enjoyed unquestionable recognition; it trained outstanding instrumentalists and composers and employed highly esteemed teachers, including Antonio Vivaldi.

The advanced training academy will take place from 28 February to 1 March 2025 in Cardona, at the Col·legiata de Sant Vicenç. This academy continues the Vivaldi academy that took place in 2023.

This advanced academy will be followed by a tour of seven concerts:
